This is a poem that i wrote after reading the diary of Peter Ginz and Eva Ginzova. The diary tells about their experience during the holocaust. This is a narrative poem.
Eva's Poem
Overcrowded, cold, filthy, and dark
These were the barracks Eva
and her friends dwelled in
Straw mattresses, single blankets;
suffering through the cold
To make matters worse there were
the never ending moves
Time and again Eva and her
friends were uprooted and moved
There were illnesses
Scarlet Fever and Diphtheria
both horrible indeed
"Sometimes i also feel so hungry that i want to cry",
Eva wrote through her struggle to
Survive
